ALBOMED is pleased to support the important work of Doctors of the World in the Central African Republic (CAR) with a donation of €2,026. The CAR is among the poorest countries in the world and has been affected by ongoing civil conflict since 2012. This makes the continuous medical assistance provided by Doctors of the World in the Bouca region all the more vital.
Thanks to the support of numerous donors, significant progress has been achieved:
- Supply of medical materials to 9 health facilities
- Completion of a maternity clinic in Ngatoua
- Provision of 46,493 medical consultations
- Treatment of 8,135 children under the age of five
- Training of 50 healthcare professionals in childhood disease management
- Admission and treatment of 557 malnourished children, 89% of whom were discharged as cured
- 9,324 women received counselling on family planning and childbirth
- 50 survivors of gender-based violence received psychological support within 72 hours
- Establishment of mental-health self-help groups with over 14,000 participants
We are grateful to contribute to this meaningful work and wish to acknowledge the remarkable commitment of Doctors of the World. Each contribution helps strengthen medical care in one of the world’s most vulnerable regions.
